Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a un método para extraer metales de grandes flujos de soluciones en extraccion de disolvente líquido-líquido, y a un aparato para realizar el mismo. Mediante el empleo del método y el aparato de la invencion, es posible seleccionar la fase que es mantenida de manera continua en la dispersion, en tanto que la otra fase está presente como gotas, la aireacion de la fase orgánica es evitada y las fases son bombeadas adicionalmente a una velocidad circunferencial baja para evitar la emulsificacion. Otro objeto de la invencion consiste en lograr una distribucion uniforme de la dispersion descargada desde la parte mezcladora dentro de la parte sedimentadora, sobre el área transversal total de ella. El método y aparato de la invencion son particularmente adecuados en grandes plantas de extraccion de cobre.
