Abstract
Se describen una clarificador para agua cruda o natural de dos etapas con primera etapa de flotación y segunda etapa de filtración que dividen por lo menos la porción inferior de un tanque de flotación en celdas independientes. Un conducto ranurado ramificado localizado en un medio de filtración en cada celda recolectora el agua clasificada. Válvulas controlan el flujo del agua clarificada desde cada conducto ramificado ya sea a un conducto anular de agua clarificada o a un primer conducto anular de primer filtrado/lavado a contracorriente conectado a un tanque de almacenamiento. El medio de filtración es de preferencia un medio dual, una capa de antracita o carbón activado sobre una capa de arena. Altas paredes de celda y deflectores inclinados en cada celda retienen el medio de filtración durante el lavado a contracorriente. Los deflectores también frenan el proceso de flotación. Una válvula de descompresión para el agua presurizada con aire disuelto tiene una ranura anular muy estrecha en la trayectoria de flujo a través de la válvula para crear burbujas de aire microscópicas de tamaño óptimo para la flotación. Un elemento movible fija esta ranura anular en un valor apropiado. Un accionador mecánico o neumático mueve el elemento de manera periódica para abrir la ranura y desalojar mediante descarga las partículas atrapadas.
