Abstract

Un horno con al menos dos cubas verticales (1) que presentan en cada caso una alimentación de material de combustión (3) en su extremo superior y una salida de material de combustión (4) en su extremo inferior y que están unidos por medio de un canal de desbordamiento (2), estando previsto por encima del canal de desbordamiento (2) en cada caso al menos un quemador principal (6) y, por debajo del canal de desbordamiento (2), en cada caso una alimentación de gas de refrigeración (5), está caracterizado por que en las cubas (1) está dispuesto en cada caso al menos un quemador adicional (7) por debajo del canal de desbordamiento (2). Un horno de este tipo puede funcionar de tal manera que el material de combustión se calcine al menos parcialmente en la cuba (1) actualmente accionada como quemador, en una zona de combustión principal (9) que está dispuesta por encima del canal de desbordamiento (2), y a continuación se trate térmicamente el material de combustión, y con ello se calcine en particular de manera final, en una zona de combustión adicional que está dispuesta entre el canal de desbordamiento (2) y el respectivo quemador adicional (7), pudiendo estar prevista en su caso una sinterización.
