Abstract

Se presenta un método y sistema de calentamiento modular que disipa de manera automática la energía térmica desde un calentador o empaque calentado si la energía no puede ser asimilada sin incremento de temperatura excesiva. Un calentador que contiene reactivos que generan calor cuando se combinan se coloca en contacto térmico con un material de control térmico pasivo que está en contacto térmico con un contenedor configurado para contener una sustancia que se va a calentar. El material de control térmico pasivo permite la transmisión de calor entre el calentador y el contenedor en tanto la temperatura del calor que pasa a través del material de control térmico pasivo no excede la temperatura de activación del material. Si la temperatura del calor que pasa a través del material de control térmico pasivo excede de la temperatura de descomposición del material, el material de control térmico pasivo se descompone y así disipa el calor.
