Abstract

Se proporciona un elemento óptico altamente versátil el cual se puede aplicar tanto como un elemento óptico para su uso en el ámbito del papel moneda y un elemento óptico para su uso en el ámbito de las identificaciones (ID). En el elemento (1) óptico que pertenece a una modalidad de la presente invención, una primera capa (2) se sitúa sobre una segunda capa (3) que tiene una estructura de relieve sobre la superficie de la misma, y el elemento (1) óptico tiene una primera región (4) y una segunda región (5). Las ondas electromagnéticas incidentes a un ángulo específico desde el lado de la primera capa (2), se reflejan totalmente debido a la estructura de relieve de la primera región (4) y/o la relación del índice refractivo de la segunda capa (3) respecto al índice refractivo de la primera capa (2), las ondas electromagnéticas incidentes a un ángulo específico desde el lado de la primera capa (2) son transmitidas o refractadas sin reflejo total debido a la estructura de relieve de la segunda región (5) y/o la relación del índice refractivo de la segunda capa (3) respecto al índice refractivo de la primera capa (2), y la transparencia de la segunda región (5) es más alta que la de la primera región (4) y una imagen preestablecida es expresada por el contraste en transparencia sólo cuando se ve desde un ángulo específico en el lado de la primera capa (2).
