Abstract

Para acoplar o conectar la luz entre una fibra óptica y un acoplador reticular de un circuito integrado fotónico, es proporcionado un espejo que desvía la luz hacia/a partir de la fibra óptica para permitir que el eje de la fibra óptica sea orientado en ángulos pequeños o paralelo a la superficie del PIC, y que sea bajado cercano a la superficie del PIC. El espejo además es configurado para reformar la luz de una fibra óptica pulida plana a fin de producir un campo de modo que se asemeje al campo de modo de una fibra óptica pulida en ángulo, de modo que coincida con el ángulo de diseño de los acopladores reticulares existentes que son diseñados para trabajar con las fibras ópticas pulidas en ángulo. El espejo y la estructura de alineación de fibra óptica en el conector óptico son formadas de manera integral/simultánea mediante el estampado de precisión.
