Abstract

Esta invención se refiere a un catalizador que contiene de aproximadamente 2 a aproximadamente 8% en peso de cobre, de cero a aproximadamente 0.6 moles/kg de uno o más metales alcalinos, de aproximadamente 0.08 a aproximadamente 0.85 moles/kg de uno o más metales alcalinotérreos y de aproximadamente 0.09 a aproximadamente 0.9 moles/kg de uno más metales de transición seleccionados del grupo que consiste de Mn, Re y mezclas de los mismos, en donde todos los metales se impregnan en forma de sus cloruros u otras sales solubles en agua sobre un soporte fluidizable con un área superficial BET de aproximadamente 80 a alrededor de 220 m2/g. un proceso para la oxicloración de etileno para formar 1,2-dicloroetano que usa dicho catalizador que tiene buena actividad, buena selectividad y baja tendencia a adherirse en reacciones de oxicloración de lecho fluidizado.
