Abstract

La invención se refiere a una instalación para fundir vidrio o roca comprendiendo un primer tanque (1), llamado un tanque de fundición, que tiene una entrada (3) para materiales vitrificables, medios de calentamiento (9) para calentar los materiales vitrificables hasta que se obtiene un vidrio líquido, una salida (6) para vidrio líquido y, corriente abajo del tanque de fundición, un segundo tanque (2), llamado un tanque de calentamiento, con paredes metálicas no cubiertas con materiales aislantes refractarios y proporcionados con un sistema de conductos internos que permiten la circulación de un refrigerante, y una pluralidad de inyectores de quemadores sumergidos (8), el tanque de calentamiento comprendiendo una salida para vidrio líquido, en la forma de un sobreflujo (7), que limita la altura del baño de vidrio en el tanque de calentamiento a un valor de entre 50 mm y 300 mm. También se refiere a un método para fundir vidrio o roca utilizando tal una instalación de fundición.
