Abstract

La presente invención se refiere al uso de una secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifica para una proteína que filogenéticamente pertenece al clado FT de la familia de genes de proteínas de unión a fosfatidiletanolamina (PEBP), en donde la proteína es capaz de suprimir o reprimir o retrasar la floración de una planta; en donde el ácido nucleico codifica para una proteína que consiste de una de las secuencias seleccionadas del grupo que consiste SEC ID NO. 5, 6 y 7, o consiste de una de las secuencias seleccionadas del grupo que consiste SEC ID NO: 1, 2 y 3, para la producción de una planta transgénica en la cual el desarrollo de la floración es suprimido, reprimido o retrasado.
