Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método de transfección de un árbol de cítricos con un gen de interés que tiene un extremo 5´y un extremo 3´, dicho método caracterizado porque comprende inocular dicho árbol de cítricos con una muestra que comprende por lo menos un vector del virus de la tristeza de los cítricos (CTV) para producir un árbol inoculado, dicho vector de CTV diseñado para comprender una construcción que comprende un gen heterólogo de interés y un elemento controlador heterólogo de ARN subgenómico (ARNsg) colocado río arriba del extremo 5´de dicho gen heterólogo de interés para controlar la expresión de dicho gen heterólogo de interés; y crecer dicho árbol inoculado bajo condiciones que permitan una infección sistémica de dicho árbol con dicho por lo menos un vector de CTV; en donde la expresión de dicho gen heterólogo de interés ocurre durante dos meses o más en el árbol con una mayoría de virus en la infección sistémica que comprende dicho vector de CTV.
