Abstract
Se proporciona un sistema y un método para el diagnóstico en animales con enfermedades respiratorias usando técnicas de auscultación. Los sonidos pulmonares de animales se graban y almacenan con información digitalizada. Se aplican algoritmos a la información emitiendo información indicativa de la salud del animal. Otro método determina la efectividad de los antibióticos administrados a los animales con base en relaciones observadas entre las categorías de calificaciones pulmonares obtenidas de la auscultación. Se realiza una comparación entre las poblaciones muestra de animales que reciben diferentes clasificaciones de antibióticos, y esta información se compara con las categorías de calificaciones pulmonares observadas para cada uno de los animales que recibió los antibióticos. Se conduce un análisis estadístico para confirmas las diferencias estadísticas en caso de índices de mortandad y entre las categorías de calificaciones pulmonares. Las diferencias insignificantes en las tasas de mortandad a través de una gama de categorías pulmonares indican que un antibiótico en particular administrado no es efectivo, mientras que la reducción en las tasas de mortandad asociado con calificaciones pulmonares menores indica un nivel de efectividad del antibiótico.
