Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un proceso por lotes o continuo enzimático para la producción de ésteres alquílicos de ácido graso para el uso en las industrias de biocombustibles, de alimentos y detergentes y un sistema para el mismo. El proceso utiliza enzimas inmovilizadas sobre una resina hidrofóbica mezclada con una fuente de ácido graso y un alcohol o donador de alcohol en la presencia de una solución amortiguadora acuoso alcalina o levemente alcalina, o en la presencia de agua o solución acuosa. El proceso de producción para los ésteres alquílicos de ácido graso se lleva a cabo mediante transesterificación o esterificación simultáneamente o secuencialmente. La actividad del biocatalizador se mantiene sin pérdidas de actividad significativas en múltiples usos y también evita la acumulación de glicerol y sub-productos de agua u otros compuestos hidrofílicos sobre el biocatalizador.
