Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a métodos, microorganismos y composiciones, en donde depósitos de petróleo se inoculan con microorganismos que pertenecen a Arcobacter de clado 1 y un medio que incluye un aceptor de electrones. Las cepas de Arcobacter crecen en el depósito de petróleo para formar biopelículas obturadoras que reducen la permeabilidad en áreas de formaciones subterráneas y, por lo tanto, aumentan la eficiencia de barrido y mejoran la recuperación de petróleo.
