Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a el uso de un fluido viscoelástico acuoso para producir un producto medicinal para tratar quirúrgicamente el ojo, tal fluido alarga las lentes del cristalino y la pupila del ojo después de ser aplicado a la superficie del ojo desde un recipiente desechable. El fluido viscoelástico contiene un polímero seleccionado del grupo que consiste de hidroxipropilmetilcelulosa, carboximetilcelulosa, hidroxietilcelulosa, ácido hialurónico, alginato de sodio, hidroxipropil guar polivinilpirrolidona, alcohol polivinílico, ácido polimetacrílico (carbómero), copolímero de polioxietileno-polioxipropileno (poloxámero), polietilenglicol, a una concentración de 0.01-30%.
