Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a mejoras a un aparato para examinar tejido biológico midiendo la absorción de los Rayos Gama o de los Rayos X, el cual incluye al menos dos substancias diferentes del tipo que comprende una fuente de radiación radioactiva que emite haces de radiación gama o rayos X, un detector para detectar las radiaciones emitidas por la fuente de radiación; que el detector produce una señal de salida que depende de la intensidad de radiación que cae sobre el detector, mecanismos para sostener la fuente de radiación y al detector en forma tal que el haz es dirigido hacia el detector y que así la muestra puede ser colocada entre la fuente de radiación y el detector mientras es pasada por el haz de radiación; y mecanismos para procesar la señal de salida, caracterizadas en que la fuente de radiación emite fotones de al menos dos energías diferentes; que el detector produce impulsos de salida por cada fotón incidente que la amplitud de la pulsación es proporcional a la energía del fotón; que el mecanismo de procesamiento incluye un primer discriminador de impulsos conectados a la salida de el detector y que pasa impulsos correspondientes a una primera energía de fotón; y un primer medidor de proporción logarítmica conectando al primer discriminador de impulsos el cual produce una primera señal de salida proporcional al logaritmo de la frecuencia de impulsos de entrada al mismo.
