Abstract

Una célula de levadura recombinante que expresa funcionalmente: - una secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifica una proteína que tiene actividad glicerol deshidrogenasa; - una secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifica una proteína que tiene actividad dihidroxiacetona cinasa; y - una secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifica una proteína que tiene actividad transportadora de glicerol, en donde la expresión de la secuencia de ácido nucleico que codifica la proteína que tiene actividad transportadora de glicerol está bajo el control de un promotor (el "promotor GT"), promotor GT que tiene una relación de expresión anaerobia/aerobia para el transportador de glicerol de 2 o más. y un proceso para la producción de etanol usando las células de levadura recombinantes.
