Abstract
Un método y sistema que tiene un inodoro con descarga de agua que tiene una taza del inodoro que está en comunicación fluida con una fuente de agua y se monta con un sensor. El sensor incluye un transmisor para transmitir una señal ultrasónica y un receptor para recibir una señal ultrasónica. El sensor puede medir un tiempo de vuelo (ToF) de la señal para obtener una medición de ToF. Un microcontrolador está conectado eléctricamente al sensor y puede recibir y procesar la medición de ToF utilizando un algoritmo para determinar el estado de la taza. El inodoro también incluye al menos una válvula de agua que está colocada entre la taza y la fuente de agua, y que está conectada eléctricamente al microcontrolador para indicar a al menos una válvula de agua se mueva desde una primera posición a una segunda posición durante un periodo de tiempo, en donde la duración del tiempo corresponde al estado de la taza.
