Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para la recuperación de metales de transición a partir de materiales de batería que comprende (0.1) proporcionar un material de batería que comprende compuestos de níquel oxídico y/o cobalto, (1.1) calentar el material de batería por encima de 350°C para producir un material reducido que contiene níquel y/o cobalto en forma elemental, (2.1) carbonilar el material reducido con monóxido de carbono, opcionalmente en presencia de un gas reactivo, para producir un residuo de carbonilación sólido y un carbonilo volátil que comprende compuestos que contienen carbonilo de níquel y/o cobalto, y (3.1) separar el carbonilo volátil del residuo de carbonilación sólido por evaporación.
