Abstract

Las piezas de polilactida (PLA) pueden cristalizarse mediante dos procedimientos. En el primer procedimiento, por ejemplo, un proceso de recocido posterior al moldeo en dos pasos, la cristalización completa de las piezas de PLA puede realizarse después del moldeo en una operación secundaria denominada recocido posterior al moldeo para hacer piezas de PLA más resistentes al calor. Esta operación de dos pasos tiene sus limitaciones, a saber: a) la deformación de las piezas con geometrías complejas y b) escalar tiempos de volúmenes de producción más altos. En el segundo procedimiento, por ejemplo, el proceso de recocido en molde en un solo paso, la cristalización completa de las piezas de PLA puede realizarse en el propio molde manteniendo la temperatura del molde a la temperatura de cristalización de la PLA, que es de unos 100°C. El proceso de recocido en molde en un solo paso utilizando un lote maestro mezclado con PLA puro da como resultado un artículo altamente cristalino producido en un tiempo de ciclo significativamente menor.
