Abstract
Se describe un método para la preparación rápida y rentable de cristales de ikaita. El método comprende poner en contacto una solución acuosa alcalina, que comprende iones de carbonato y bicarbonato, con una solución de agua, que comprende Ca2+, a una temperatura que no excede 15 °C, en donde el contacto entre la solución acuosa alcalina y la solución de agua tiene lugar en una superficie permeable o porosa, a través de la cual cualquier solución se alimenta a la otra a una velocidad de flujo que facilita la formación de cristales de ikaita. También se describe un sistema para llevar a cabo el proceso de preparación de ikaita. El proceso y el sistema proporcionan un medio rentable y efectivo para la captura y almacenamiento de dióxido de carbono.
