Abstract
Se divulgan métodos y aparatos para monitorear muestras de aire para la presencia del explosivo TATP; un enfoque preferido emplea espectrometría de masa de reacción de transferencia de protones (PTR-MS); el sistema puede ser operado continuamente sobre una base en tiempo real o en tiempo casi real; un tubo de suministro de dimensiones y materiales específicos es empleado para introducir la muestra en la cámara de ionización lo cual a su vez genera los iones que son suministrados al espectrómetro de masa para determinar los valores m/z; el sistema puede emplear una pluralidad de cámaras de ionización para reducir la cantidad de identificadores falsos negativos; un embudo de iones de entrada múltiple puede ser empleado para combinar los iones de cada una de las cámaras de ionización; se puede emplear la ionización química; se puede emplear un módulo de validación para reducir la cantidad de identificadores falsos positivos.
