Abstract

La invención se relaciona con artículos que consisten en metal, metal duro, cermet o cerámica y recubiertos con un material duro y con un método para producir tales artículos; las capas de material duro de conformidad con la invención pueden usarse, por ejemplo, como capas antidesgaste para herramientas de corte, como capas protectoras para cuchillas de turbina o como barreras de difusión en microelectrónica; el objeto de la invención es proporcionar capas de material duro que exhiban una alta dureza, alta resistencia a la oxidación y excelente resistencia al desgaste; en este objeto se incluye la provisión de un método rentable para producir capas de material duro de este tipo; el objetivo se alcanza con artículos que consisten en metal, metal duro, cermet o cerámica y recubiertos con un material duro, y un método para producir dichos artículos, que se recubren con un sistema de capa de una o varias capas por medio de un método CVD térmico sin excitación por plasma, en donde el sistema de capa de una o varias capas comprende al menos una capa de nanocompuesto con una primera fase nanocristalina de oxicarbonitruro de titanio cúbico y una segunda fase amorfa de oxicarbonitruro de silicio u oxicarburo de silicio.
