Abstract
La invención se refiere a una planta de Solanum lycopersicum que comprende su genoma, en el cromosoma 1, secuencias introgresadas provenientes de Solanum habrochaites, en la cual dichas secuencias introgresadas confieren a la planta un fenotipo mejorado correspondiente tanto a un rendimiento incrementado como a una cantidad incrementada de azúcares solubles asignados a los frutos (Brix*Rendimiento), con respecto a una planta correspondiente carente de dichas secuencias, y en la cual dichas secuencias introgresadas se eligen a partir de aquellas presentes en el genoma de una planta de las semillas ToPATYIELD número de accesión NCIMB 42567. Las secuencias introgresadas de preferencia son caracterizadas por alelos definidos de diferentes SNPs, en el cromosoma 1, inter alia alelo T de SNP IL2_3605 (SEQ ID No.9) y/o alelo A de IL2_6411 (SEQ ID No.12). La invención también está dirigida a partes de dichas plantas con fenotipo mejorado, así como la progenie, al uso de estas plantas para introgresar el fenotipo mejorado en otro fondo genético, así como diferentes métodos para obtener plantas o semillas de jitomate con rendimiento y brix*rendimiento incrementados.
