Abstract

La invención hace referencia a un variador planetario que se puede utilizar en una transmisión variable para obtener una relación de velocidad y par variables, comprendiendo el variador una rueda anular (16), al menos dos ruedas planetarias (19) y una rueda central (17), en donde la interacción entre las ruedas tiene lugar a través de un movimiento de rodadura, en esencia, sin perforaciones de una superficie de rodadura proporcionada en cada una de las partes rueda (12) de las ruedas planetarias, en superficies de rodadura (20,21) proporcionadas en la rueda anular (16) y la rueda central (17), y en donde cada rueda planetaria (19) puede girar libremente alrededor de un eje de articulación (24) donde dicho eje de articulación (24) se orienta perpendicularmente con respecto al plano formado por el eje de rotación (25) y el eje central (18) de la rueda planetaria, al tiempo que es externo al eje central común (18).
