Abstract
Se proporciona un pilar B dimensionalmente estable para un vehículo automotor que incluye propiedades materiales a medida. El pilar B incluye al menos una zona suave localizada rodeada por una zona dura. La zona dura típicamente tiene un límite elástico de 950 MPa a 1700 MPa; una resistencia a la tracción de 1200 MPa a 2100 MPa; y un alargamiento de más del 4%. Las zonas suaves tienen cada una un límite elástico de 340 MPa a 780 MPa; una resistencia a la tracción de 400 MPa a 980 MPa; y un alargamiento de más del 10%. La microestructura de la zona dura es martensita, y la microestructura de las zonas suaves es martensita templada, ferrita perlita bainita, ferrita perlita austenita, ferrita perlita, ferrita bainita, cementita austenita y/o cementita bainita. Las zonas suaves del pilar B se fabrican con una etapa de enfriamiento lento, que puede realizarse en aire fuera de los troqueles.
