Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para la manufactura de materiales microporosos de carbón para realizar separaciones selectivas de nitrógeno en mezclas de gases tales como ácido sulfhídrico, dióxido de carbono, metano e hidrocarburos C2, C3 y C4+, con alta eficiencia, con forma de microesferas o cilindros a partir de copolímeros de poli (cloruro de vinilideno-co-acrilato de metilo) con densidad de 1.3 a 1.85 g/cm3 o poli (cloruro de vinilideno-co-cloruro de vinilo) con densidad de 1.3 a 1.85 g/cm3, utilizando dos etapas. La primera consiste en una pasivación superficial del material por ataque químico en una disolución alcohólica altamente alcalina con el objetivo de efectuar una precarbonización en la superficie del copolímero, para que durante el proceso de pirólisis no se deforme y desarrolle gradualmente la microporosidad. El material de la primera etapa presenta en la corteza porcentajes entre 55 a 85 % de carbono, entre 5 a 20 % de oxígeno y de 10 a 40 % cloro, mientras que en el interior del material presenta porcentajes menores de carbono entre 30 a 65 %, de oxígeno entre 2 a 6 % y de cloro de 30 a 60 %. La segunda consiste en la pirólisis gradual del copolímero pasivado químicamente con el objetivo de desarrollar microporosidad y altos valores de área superficial; así como durante las etapas de fusión y deshidrohalogenación gaseosa del mismo se evita la deformación del material. La morfología de los copolímeros son microesferas de 125 a 225 micrómetros o cilindros de 4 mm de altura y 3 mm de diámetro, lo cuales después de la pirólisis reducen su tamaño en 35 % respecto del inicial. El material de la segunda etapa, el cual ya es material microporoso de carbono, presenta en la corteza porcentajes entre 90 a 100 % de carbono y entre 10 a 0 % de oxígeno. Este material microporoso de carbono presenta la cualidad altamente factible de efectuar la separación cromatográfica de nitrógeno en mezclas con gases tales como ácido sulfhídrico, dióxido de carbono, metano e hidrocarburos C2, C3 y C4+, lo que permite tomar como base para desarrollar tecnologías de separación de estos componentes mediante procesos de adsorción-desorción. Los materiales microporosos de carbono de la presente invención pueden separar y desorber mezclas de nitrógeno con dióxido de carbono y al ácido sulfhídrico a temperaturas menores de 175 °C así como dependiendo de la forma de realizar la etapa 1 (tratamiento químico) se pueden tener materiales microporosos de carbono que retienen de forma muy importante al dióxido de carbono y al ácido sulfhídrico.
