Abstract
Se describe aquí un método para recubrir fibra óptica donde el recubrimiento ha sido curado por aplicación de una fuente de radiación actínica monocromática, tal como un diodo emisor de luz, en el que el recubrimiento contiene un oligómero de (met) acrilato de uretano; un monómero diluyente de (met) acrilato; un monómero diluyente que tiene un grupo donador de electrones adyacente al grupo vinilo, tal como un monómero de éter vinílico; y un fotoiniciador. También se describen composiciones que son capaces de experimentar fotopolimerización cuando están puestas como recubrimiento sobre una fibra óptica y cuando son irradiadas por un diodo emisor de luz (LED) con curado superficial mejorado y amarilleamiento reducido. También se describen las fibras ópticas recubiertas producidas por tales procedimientos y composiciones.
