Abstract
Se describen aparatos (10) para y métodos para impartir un tratamiento de superficie con láser a una superficie exterior expuesta (12) de un componente de rodamiento rodante que tiene un recubrimiento que contiene carbono sobre el mismo. El aparato (10) incluye una estructura de alojamiento de soporte (16). Un portador de rodamiento rodante tiene una superficie adaptada para recibir y acoplar por lo menos un anillo de un rodamiento rodante. Un motor (22) montado a la estructura de alojamiento de soporte (16) se acopla con el portador y se adapta para accionar de manera giratoria el portador. Un emisor de haz láser dirige un haz láser en una superficie expuesta (12) del componente de rodamiento rodante. El portador se hace girar mientras que el componente de rodamiento rodante está en relación en general opuesta con el haz láser de modo que la energía del haz provoca que por lo menos una porción de recubrimiento en el componente de rodamiento se volatice y se remueva mientras que también provoca que por lo menos una porción de un contenido de carbono de recubrimiento se difunda en el componente de rodamiento.
