Abstract
El método y sistema hace posible la detección e identificación más exacta de la formación no deseada de arco, que incluyen el procesamiento novedoso de la tensión de la señal que representa la corriente recuperada de la línea de energía. En una modalidad, se detectan fallas de arco con base en un análisis numérico donde se observan ciclos individuales de la tensión y corriente de la línea, y los datos recolectados durante cada ciclo se procesan para estimar la probabilidad de la presencia de un evento de arco dentro de cada ciclo individual con base en un número previamente definido de eventos de arco que ocurran dentro del número previamente definido de ciclos contiguos. En otra modalidad, se puede hacer una rápida detección de picos de corriente transitorios calculando valores de diferencia entre las muestras consecutivas de la corriente de la línea recolectadas durante un ciclo, el promedio de las diferencias y el valor pico a pico de la corriente de la línea; comparando cada valor de diferencia con el promedio de la diferencia; y la comparación de cada valor de diferencia con el valor pico a pico; y, con base en el cálculo del compuesto de las dos comparaciones, utilizando umbrales para determinar si está presente la formación de arco dentro del ciclo procesado.
