Abstract

La presente invención está dirigida a métodos de separación de un flujo de emulsión fluida en un flujo de hidrocarburo y un flujo acuoso, poniendo en contacto el flujo con una membrana microporosa para producir un flujo de producto de hidrocarburo y un flujo de producto acuoso. La membrana comprende una matriz polimérica, sustancialmente hidrofóbica, y partículas sustancialmente hidrofílicas, finamente divididas, rellenas de manera sustancialmente insoluble en agua distribuidas a través de la matriz. La matriz polimérica tiene un tamaño de poro medio menor de 1.0 micrómetro y las purezas de los flujos de producto son independientes de la velocidad de flujo del flujo de producto acuoso y el tamaño de poro de la membrana.
