Abstract

Se describen métodos para la producción de peces y animales acuáticos reproductivamente estériles para la acuicultura, el comercio de acuarios y el control de especies invasoras. Los métodos incluyen la alteración del desarrollo gonadal mediante la administración de compuestos que conducen a la falla en el desarrollo gonadal fértil. Los compuestos pueden ser administrados a los huevos antes de la fertilización o la activación en agua o después de la fertilización y la activación en agua contactando a los huevos no fertilizados o los huevos fertilizados previamente activados en agua o los huevos fertilizados con un medio de inmersión que incluye el compuesto de interés.
