Abstract

La invención se refiere a una pieza mecánica provista de un recubrimiento de carbono amorfo (con al menos 70% en peso de carbono que no incluye hidrógeno) y que se utiliza para cooperar en deslizamiento con una parte antagónica que tiene una dureza de superficie que es un máximo de dos tercios de la dureza del recubrimiento. La pieza mecánica es tal que el recubrimiento tiene una rugosidad Ra, la cual, medida por perfilometría, es igual a un máximo de 0.050 micrómetros y, medido por la microscopía de fuerza atómica, una micro-rugosidad que es igual a un mínimo de 0.004 micrómetros y un máximo de 0.009 micrómetros. Esto minimiza el desgaste de piezas antagónicas menos duras y el desgaste del recubrimiento.
