Abstract

Se describe un método para fabricar alimento para animales granulado y el producto fabricado por el método, que comprende: preparar una composición que contiene a) 10-90% en peso de un ácido orgánico seleccionado del grupo que consiste de ácido acético, propiónico, butírico y mezclas de los mismos, b) 1-90% en peso de tensioactivo de aceite de ricino etoxilado que tiene un HLB de 4 a 18 y una relación molar de 1 molécula de aceite de ricino a 1-200 moléculas de óxido de etileno, c) 0-20% en peso de terpenos antimicrobianos, o aceites esenciales; agregar agua para preparar una composición de tratamiento térmico, y aplicar una cantidad efectiva de la composición de tratamiento térmico a un alimento para animales, con suficiente calentamiento para granular o extruír el alimento.
