Abstract
Aquí se describe un proceso para producir isopreno que incluye reaccionar una corriente de alimentación C4 de metátesis mezclada que comprende isobutileno y por lo menos uno de 1-buteno y 2-penteno en un primer reactor de metátesis en la presencia de un primer catalizador de metátesis, bajo condiciones suficientes para producir una corriente intermedia de producto que comprende por lo menos 30 % en peso de 2 metil-2-penteno basado en el contenido de olefina de la alimentación fresca en la corriente de alimentación C4 mezclada, y por lo menos uno de etileno y propileno, separar el 2 metil-2-penteno, someter a pirólisis el 2-metil-2-penteno separado para producir una corriente de producto de reacción que comprende isopreno, y separar el isopreno en una corriente de producto de isopreno utilizando fraccionación.
