Abstract

Un sistema de detección de nivel de fluido (10; 110; 210; 310; 410) incluye un depósito de fluido (15; 15A; 15B; 15C; 15D; 15E; 15F; 15G; 15H; 115) definiendo una cavidad (60; 160) para mantener fluido en la misma. Un sensor de nivel de fluido (12; 12A; 12B; 12C; 12D; 12E; 12F; 12G; 12H; 12I; 12J; 112) se monta al depósito de fluido. El cuerpo de solenoide (20; 120) define una primera abertura (62; 162) estableciendo comunicación de fluidos entre la cámara de armadura (42; 142) y la cavidad definida por el depósito. El tiempo de desplazamiento de una armadura (44; 144) dentro de la cámara de armadura es por ende afectado por el nivel de fluido en el depósito. Un controlador (16; 16A; 16B; 116; 416) se conecta operativamente al sensor y es operable para recibir una señal de sensor (17; 17A; 17B; 17C; 17D; 17E; 17F; 17G; 17H; 17I; 17J) indicativa de un tiempo de desplazamiento a partir del sensor y formular una señal de control (21; 21A; 21B; 421) correspondiente al mismo. Una fuente de potencia (38; 38A; 38B; 138; 148) se conecta operativamente al controlador para energizar a la espira y al controlador. En algunas formas de realización, múltiples componentes conteniendo fluidos (15A; 15B; 15C; 15E; 15F; 15G; 15H) se conectan con uno o mas controladores (16A; 416; 423). Un motor (15E), una transmisión (15F), y diferenciales de eje trasero (15G; 15H) sobre un vehículo se pueden equipar con sensores (12G; 12H; 12I; 12J) para proporcionar información de nivel de fluido, temperatura y viscosidad.
