Abstract
La presente invención propone un método para operar un calentador regenerador (10), en particular una estufa de soplado caliente de un alto horno, el calentador regenerador (10) comprende una primera cámara (12) y una segunda cámara (22), la primera cámara (12) tiene un quemador (14) colocado en la misma, la segunda cámara (22) comprende medios de almacenamiento del calor; tal método comprende un ciclo de calentamiento en donde el combustible y un gas oxidante se alimentan al quemador (14) de la primera cámara (12) y se dejan quemar y en donde los gases de combustión calientes son conducidos a través de la segunda cámara (22) para calentar los medios de almacenamiento del calor; y un ciclo de soplado en donde un gas de proceso se alimenta a través de la segunda cámara (22) para captar el calor de los medios de almacenamiento del calor; de acuerdo con un aspecto importante de la presente invención, el ciclo de calentamiento comprende los pasos de alimentar una primera corriente (38) de combustible al quemador (14) del calentador regenerador (10); alimentar una segunda corriente (42) de combustible a la cámara de precombustión (44); alimentar el oxígeno (46) a la cámara de precombustión (44); dejar que la segunda corriente (42) de combustible y el oxígeno (46) interactúen para formar un gas oxidante (48) y alimentar el gas oxidante (48) al quemador (14) del calentador regenerador (10); al final del ciclo de calentamiento, el suministro de oxígeno (46) a la cámara de precombustión (44) se interrumpe, mientras que se alimenta además la segunda corriente (42) de combustible a la cámara de precombustión (44) y se alimenta además la primera corriente (38) de combustible al quemador (14).
