Abstract

Un aparato para ejercicio abdominal tiene bastidores de base y posterior montados de manera pivotante para el movimiento entre las posiciones erguida y reclinada, y un bastidor de asiento con cojín giratorio en el bastidor de base. Un cojinete de baja fricción entre los bastidores de base y de asiento soporta el peso de un usuario. El cojinete está a alrededor de 30 a 42% la distancia de un extremo posterior del cojín a su extremo frontal para que el cóccix del usuario se alinee verticalmente con el cojinete. Las barras a cada lado del bastidor de base tienen un par de extensiones conectadas al bastidor de base o de asiento, cada una con un asa en forma de U que se ubica en un plano en un ángulo agudo de alrededor de 30 a 80 grados con respecto al horizontal. Un par de poleas sencillas o un par de poleas en tándem se monta cerca del extremo posterior del bastidor de base y se acopla por muelles cubiertos por fundas para desviar el bastidor posterior hacia la posición erguida.
