Abstract

La invención proporciona un contenido de energía mejorado y recuperación de potencia de eje a partir de gas maloliente de reacciones de oxidación de xileno mientras al mismo tiempo se reduce el costo de tratamiento de aguas residuales. Más potencia de eje se produce utilizando gas maloliente del que se requiere para impulsar el compresor de aire principal, incluso con temperaturas preferidas de oxidación relativamente baja. De manera simultánea, una cantidad de aguas residuales mayor que el subproducto de agua de la oxidación de xileno se mantiene en forma de vapor y se trata junto con contaminantes de gases malolientes en una unidad de destrucción oxidativa térmica de fase de gas auto-sustentable (auto-aumentable). Opcionalmente, el gas maloliente se combina de múltiples reactores de oxidación de xileno, que comprenden reactores de oxidación primario y/o secundario y formar TPA y/o IPA. Opcionalmente, el condensado del compresor de aire y la purga del depurador cáustico se utilizan en un proceso de TPA o como agua de servicio, eliminando efectivamente el flujo normal del efluente líquido de aguas residuales desde una planta de TPA. Opcionalmente, el gas maloliente de PET que contiene el agua de formación de PET se trata en una unidad de destrucción oxidativa térmica compartida, que elimina efectivamente el flujo normal de efluente líquido de aguas residuales desde una planta combinada de pX a TPA a PET.
