Abstract

Un medio de coalescencia para separación de emulsiones de agua-hidrocarburos, comprende una hoja de contacto-emulsión formada de: (a) al menos un componente del grupo que consiste de fibras naturales, fibras de celulosa, fibras de base natural, y fibras de base celulosa, al menos un componente del grupo que consiste de fibras fibriladas de alta área superficial, material sintético que mejora el área superficial, microfibras de vidrio y fibras funcionalizadas nanocerámicas; y (c) al menos un componente del grupo que consiste de un aditivo de resistencia en seco y un aditivo de resistencia en húmedo, en donde los componentes fibrosos del medio constituyen al menos aproximadamente 70% del medio. En modalidades preferidas, el medio de coalescencia comprende fibras kraft, fibras lyocell fibriladas, microfibras de vidrio o fibras funcionalizadas nanocerámicas, un aditivo de resistencia en húmedo, y un aditivo de resistencia en seco. De preferencia, el medio de coalescencia se forma como una capa auto-soportante sencilla de un proceso de colocación en húmedo utilizando una pasta, material o fibras colocadas en húmedo distribuidas de manera homogénea. También puede formarse como una estructura de múltiples capas.
