Abstract
Composiciones y métodos para modular el desarrollo de órganos florales, la formación de hojas, el fototropismo, la dominancia apical, el desarrollo de frutos, la iniciación de raíces y para incrementar el rendimiento en una planta. Las composiciones incluyen una secuencia SILKY1. Las composiciones comprenden secuencias de aminoácidos y secuencias de nucleótidos seleccionadas entre las SEQ ID NOS: 1 y 2, así como sus variantes y fragmentos. Las secuencias de nucleótidos que codifican las secuencias SILKY1 se proveen en construcciones de ADN para su expresión en una planta de interés para modular el nivel de una secuencia SILKY1 en una planta o una parte de planta. Los métodos comprenden introducir en una planta o parte de planta un polinucleótido heterólogo que comprende una secuencia SILKY1 de la invención. Se puede incrementar o disminuir el nivel del polipéptido SILKY1. Dicho método se puede usar para incrementar el rendimiento en plantas; en una forma de realización, el método se usa para incrementar el rendimiento de granos en cereales.
