Abstract

En la presente invención se empleó un soporte de carbón que contiene alta área superficial específica alta, volumen de poro grande y (i) un metal de transición del Grupo VIB, (ii) un metal no noble del Grupo VIII, (iii) fósforo, para la hidrodesmetalización e hidrodesulfuración de crudos pesados y residuos. Asimismo, el catalizador es preparado mediante el uso de un agente quelante y posee una actividad hacia la hidrodesulfuración más alta, asumiendo que están presentes metales activos más dispersados sobre este catalizador. Los estudios de la actividad en una corrida de larga duración mostraron que el catalizador que posee solamente molibdeno soportado en carbón activado posee buena estabilidad conforme avanza el tiempo de corrida y una capacidad de retención de metales alta.
