Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para preparar una forma de espuma alargada de resina termoplástica extruída que comprende a una resina aromática alquenil substituída, caracterizada como teniendo una densidad entre aproximadamente 1.441 y 5.607 Kg/m3 que comprende las etapas de (A) plastificar con calor a la resina termoplástica; (B) añadir cuando menos un agente de insuflar fluído que comprende cuando menos uno de 1-cloro-1, 1-difluoroetano, 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroetano y 2-cloro-1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroetano; (C) mezclar de manera uniforme al agente de insuflar en la resina bajo un presión suficiente para evitar el insuflado de la resina formando una mezcla de resina insuflable; (D) extruir la mezcla dentro de una región teniendo una presión desde aproximadamente 50.8 a 685.8 mm de mercurio absoluto en donde la mezcla de resina insuflaable se expande en una forma de espuma; y (E) enfriar la forma de espuma.
