Abstract

La presente invemción se refiere a un dispositivo de aislamiento de fuego que es capaz de operar a temperaturas elevadas tales como 1092 grados C (2000 grados F) durante hasta 15 minutos y que tiene un pasaje a través del mismo, caracterizado en que una válvula de autocerrado tiene un cabezal movible de acero inoxidable y un asiento de acero inoxidable colocados en dicho pasaje, siendo el cabezal movible empujado mecánicamente hacia el asiento hacia una posición de válvula cerrada, cerrando el pasaje a través del dispositivo, en que el miembro de punta en la forma de un manguito de material fusible tiene por lo menos una abertura a través del mismo para proporcionar una posición abierta contra el empuje sobre el cabezal movible, en que el asiento tiene una trayectoria de flujo en su extermo externo dimencionada para ajustarse al miembro de punta, y una trayectoria de flujo hacia su extremo interno de diámetro más grande que el miembro de punta en el área ocupada por dicha por lo menos una abertura, para permirir flujo a través de la misma cuando el miembro de punta mantiene la válvula en una posición abierta, y en que el miembro de punta está elaborado de un material para fundirse antes de la fusión de cualquier componente unido, después de lo cual el miembro de punta se colapsará hacia un diámetro más grande permitiendo que el empuje cierre la válvula y estando el resto de las partes del dispositivo hechas de material resistente a temperaturas elevadas.
