Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para llevar al punto óptimo el rendimiento de un catalizador de vanadio-fósforo durante la oxidación de butano a anhídrido maleico, caracterizado porque comprende: (a) determinar la temperatura de operación del catalizador, que provea la conversión porcentual deseada de butano a anhídrido maleico, y establecer el rendimiento deseado; (b) supervisar la temperatura de operación del catalizador, midiendo indirectamente el funcionamiento de ese catalizador; (c) controlar la selectividad del catalizador a anhídrido maleico, haciendo pasar continuamente sobre el catalizador una cantidad de un compuesto de fósforo suficiente para prevenir la declinación en la temperatura de operación, manteniendo de esa manera el rendimiento deseado de anhídrido maleico.
