Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a procedimiento para la eliminación de óxidos de nitrógeno en especial de NO y/o NO2 de los gases residuales especialmente de instalaciones industriales y de combustión, y la obtención de ácido nítrico, caracterizado porque, se determina el contenido en los gases residuales de los óxidos de nitrógeno, se mezcla el gas residual con una solución en estado gaseoso que contiene peróxido de hidrógeno de acuerdo con la cantidad medida de los óxidos de nitrógeno a eliminar, según la estequiometría de las ecuaciones de reacción 2 NO + H2O2 ----2 HNO3 + 2 H2O o bien 2 NO2 + H2O2----2 HNO3 en caso dado en exceso, se transforma la mezcla de gases a su temperatura o de preferencia llevándola a una temperatura de 20 - 120 grados C, en preencia de catalizador sólido que debido a la superficie exterior y/o debido a una superficie interior aumentada presenta por lo menos capacidad de absorción con respecto al H2O2, no descomponiendolo o no descomponiendolo mayormente y la mezcla de gas transformada o la parte contenida en ella de la mezcla gaseosa de HNO3H2O formada es derivada en la elaboración subsiguiente según metodos en sí conocidos para formar ácido nítrico.
