Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a solución oftálmica para mejorar el intercambio lacrimal de (I) fluido ocular atrapado entre un lente de contacto y un ojo al cual el lente ha sido aplicado, para (II) fluido ocularmente compatible no atrapado, caracterizada porque consiste esencialmente de a) 0.1 a 0.5 por ciento en peso de un agente de aplanamiento de lentes seleccionado de entre urea, glicerina, sorbitol, aminoetanol y mezclas de los mismos; b) una sal iónica ocularmente aceptable en una cantidad suficiente para dar a toda la solución oftálmica una tonicidad en el rango de 270 a 330 milliosmoles por kilogramo de la solución oftálmica; c) un agente realzador de la viscosidad ocularmente aceptable, en una cantidad suficiente como para dar a la solución oftálmica una viscosidad Bookfield relativa en el rango de 3 a 50 cps; d) un amortiguador ocularmente aceptable en una cantidad de 0 por ciento o una cantidad amortiguante efectiva como para que proporcione a la solución oftálmica un pH de alrededor de 6.5 a alrededor de 8; e) de 0 a 0.5 por ciento de unpreservador ocularmente aceptable; f) de 0 a 2 por ciento de un lubricante ocularmente aceptable; g) de 0 a 0.5 por ciento de un surfactante no-iónico ocularmente aceptable; y h) agua. Metodo para mejorar el intercambio lacrimal de I) fluido ocular localizado entre un lente de contacto de hidrogel, de uso diario y un ojo al cual el lente ha sido aplicado, con II) un fluido ocularmente compatible no tan localizado, caracterizado porque consiste en instalar en dicho ojo, teniendo el lente puesto en el una cantidad efectivamente para mejorar el intercambio, de una solución con lo cual, el lente es temporalmente aplanado, permitiendo así un mayor intercambio de fluido del que es posible en ausencia de la solución.
