Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a fusible limitador de corriente del tipo que comprende: un elemento fusible diseñado para conducir una corriente eléctrica y para fundirse de tal manera que se interrumpa la corriente eléctrica cuando la misma alcanza un valor predeterminado; un arco eléctrico a alta temperatura producido por la fundición del elemento fusible; un apagador de corriente dispuesto de tal manera que rodeé al fusible; y un par de terminales montadas en el apagador de corriente interconectadas entre sí a través del elemento fusible y que proporciona la conexión del elemento fusible en un circuito eléctrico que debe ser protegido contra una sobrecorriente, caracterizado porque el apagador de corriente consta de una envoltura que rodea estrechamente al elemento fusible, de una cerámica rígida no porosa tal que tenga una alta resistividad dieléctrica a la elevada temperatura de un arco eléctrico producido dentro de la envoltura al fundirse el elemento fusible, así como una alta resistencia a los choques de la presión interna y alta temperatura causadas por la producción del arco eléctrico.
