Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a en un procedimiento para producir ácido acrílico mediante la oxidación catalítica de dos etapas de propileno, en donde la primera etapa produce principalmente acroleína y la segunda etapa produce principalmente acido crilico mediante oxidación de acroleína, el procedimiento utiliza opcionalmente una o más corrientes de circulación hacia cualesquiera o ambas etapas, ambas etapas funcionan en corrientes de alimentación que contienen oxigeno y un gas diluyente inerte agregado, la mejora consiste de (a) utilizaruno o más gases diluyentes esencialmente inerte y esencialmente anhidrido agregada a la primera etapa, teniendo dicha alimentación de gas diluyente esencialmente inerte y esencialmente anhidrido agregada a la primera etapa, teniendo dicha alimentación de gas diluyente esencialmente anhidrida e inerte una capacidad termica compuesta de por lo menos aproximadamente 6.5 calorias/gramos-mol (ºC): y (b) utilizar uno o más gases diluyentes esencialmente anhidridos y esencialmente inertes como el gas diluyente inerte alimentado a la segunda etapa, teniendo el diluyente esencialmente anhidrido e inerte agregado una capacidad térmica compuesta de por lo menos aproximadamente 6.5 calorias/gramos-mol (ºC).
