Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método de aglomerar un material comestible en partículas que comprende las etapas de: (a) formar una fase fluible en la superficie de las partículas; (b) depositar las partículas sobre por lo menos una superficie de un par de superficies sin fin enfrentadas y mover las superficies en una dirección corriente abajo a través de un intersticio para conducir las partículas a través del intersticio, convergiendo las superficies cuando se mueven hacia el intersticio, con lo que se consolidan las partículas de modo que la fase fluible en las superficies de las partículas se funde para unir las partículas formando una masa; (c) separar la masa de dichas superficies; y (d) solidificar la fase fluible, con lo que se solidifica la masa. Aparato para aglomerar un material comestible en partículas que comprende: (a) medios para suministrar el material en partículas; (b) dos elementos opuestos, cada uno con una superficie sin fin, montándose dichos elementos adyacentes entre sí y definiendo entre ambos el intersticio, extendiéndose dichas superficies sin fin a través del intersticio y enfrentándose en el intersticio; (c) medios para mover elementos de modo que porciones opuestas sucesivas de dichas superficies sin fin se muevan en una dirección corriente abajo en y a través de dicho intersticio y converjan entre sí cuando se mueven corriente abajo hacia el intersticio; (d) medios para depositar las partículas suministradas por dichos medios de suministro corriente arriba de dicho intersticio en por lo menos una de las superficies sin fin, con lo que las partículas se conducirán a través del intersticio y se consolidarán mediante las superficies sin fin móviles; (e) medios para formar una fase fluible en las superficies de las partículas antes que alcancen el intersticio de modo que con la consolidación de las partículas se fundirá la fase fluible sobre las partículas para unir las partículas formando una masa; (f) medios para solidificar la fase fluible después del paso a través del intersticio; y (g) medios para separar la masa de las superficies sin fin.
