Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un aislante de cojinete funcionalmente interpuesto entre una caja de maquinaria y un eje rotatorio que se extiende a través de la caja para aislar un cojinete de eje y una caja interior del medio ambiente fuera de la caja: el aislante comprende en combinación, un miembro de estator adaptado para conectar con la caja, un rotor adaptado para montarse sobre el eje, el estator está formado con un reborde y un receso acoplante que tiene superficies opuestas anulares que se extienden axialmente, el rotor tiene un receso que se extiende radialmente colocado para enfrentar a la superficie del estator anular que se extiende axialmente, y un miembro sellante elástico, anular y sólido, colocado en el receso y adaptado para acoplar sellantemente el rotor y la superficie anular del estator aduacente cuando el rotor no está en movimiento para prevenir la salida del lubricante del interior de la caja y el ingreso de los contaminantes por medio ambiente, el miembro sellante está adaptado para ser dirigido radialmente hacia afuera de y fuera del contacto con la superficie adyacente del estator cuando el rotor tiene el suficiente movimiento de operación.
